Inspiration Behind Quirky Critter Devotions

For a long time, I knew I wanted to create a book that combined my love of animals, respect for science, and my personal Christian faith. Quirky Critter Devotions: 52 Wild Wonders for Kids began as a nonfiction book about insects with faith components. That was 2016. Eventually it became a devotional about insects. When I realized the whole animal kingdom has a lot to teach us about God and his love for us, I expanded it to include mammals, fish, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and spiders—in addition to insects.

It took eight years and many story structures to get Quirky Critter Devotions ready for readers. Read the full story behind the book here.
