Spider Educator Guide with 15 Activities

I've been wanting to create proper teacher guides for The Truth About series. Earlier this month I learned Scurry! The Truth About Spiders is a Towner Award nominee with the Washington Library Association. They asked if I had an educator guide to share. I didn't, but I could certainly create a unit study for spiders.

Take a look! I created a spider unit that is flexible enough to be used with various grade levels. I focused on reading, writing, and STEAM activities.
In twelve pages this spider unit includes 15 different spider lessons and three printables. Some focus on Scurry! The Truth About Spiders. Others compliment the informational picture book.

Educator Guide for Scurry! The Truth About Spiders

As a former teacher, creating this guide was a lot of fun. I included all of this for free for use in your classroom.

Spider Printables

  • Spider and Insect Venn Diagram (2 pages)
  • Spider Word Search
  • Spider Patterns
All of these spider activities are free for you to use in your classroom or educational setting. (I don't even require an email.) I do hope you'll include Scurry! The Truth About Spiders in your spider unit. It's a beautiful book! The hardcover even comes with a full-size poster. Ask your local library to purchase a copy if it's not already part of their collection!
More educator guides are coming! The next one will be for Ribbit! The Truth About Frogs
Though I wrote a blog post including a variety of STEM owl activities for Whooo Knew? The Truth About Owls, it's not comprehensive enough to be a teacher guide.
If you like this spider educator guide, please spread the word about it to other educators! If you like Scurry! The Truth About Spiders, I hope you'll leave a review at your favorite online site.
